thing you need to do is read this book called, What to Say When You Talk to Yourself by Dr. Shad Helmstetter. As far as I can tell, he invented this technology or therapy, or at least is the one who brought it to light and explains it the best. This is the definitive book about "Self-Talk," what it is, how it works, why it works, why it has no choice but to work, even if you don't believe in it. This book will capture you, inspire you, and convince you of the effectiveness and fun of this simple procedure. It's easy to read and fun, and you will find yourself thinking "this is so obvious, so simple, why has no one thought of this before?" Shad is a good writer, so its fun to read, and he has a great way with analogies and examples that make the points crystal clear. I hope you find this book as much of a revelation as I did. It will inspire you and give you hope, because there is hope. It's simple, effective, it works, and it makes you happy!

Maybe a Holistic Approach is Best

"It works. It works, it works, it works! It does work!"

(this feeling/thought just spontaneously came to me. Not a bad feeling/thought to have to say the least!) I think Jung may have been wrong about the polarity of Thoughts and Feelings. I think feelings are just un-worded, or "unconscious" thoughts. They are at least intimately connected, if not in fact the same thing. You know Self-Talk does work. Give it time and consistency. Having fun with it will help you do that. Make it part of a holistic approach. I'm no doctor, but maybe you do need medication as well. See a doctor or Psychiatrist, perhaps. Meditation, diet, exercise. I wouldn't rule anything out that you might feel is helpful. It's not "this or that." Self-Talk could just be part of a bigger picture, and a very synergistic part indeed.

I used to get good ideas like What to Say When You Talk to Yourself, or Claire Weekes' books, and they are great ideas indeed, but when I was into them I would dismiss all others. But now I feel that even if you are working one program that there's no reason not to consider other things. More than likely they are probably in some way even complimentary to the ideas you find central. Why not try more than one thing in tandem? It doesn't mean you have to let go of your core beliefs. It might even strengthen them, or lead you to an unexpected discovery.

I also used to be almost Tom Cruiseish about things like Prozac and other Psychiatric drugs. And let me just say for the record I am no scientist or doctor, so for me the "jury is still out" on such things. But let me say that I am more open to such options now. The other day I was putting together a barstool I bought from Target and there were four screw holes to be lined up. After I put in three of the screws the last hole connecting the seat to the base didn't line up and the screw wouldn't go through. I got out a hammer hit it a couple times and whammo! it lined up, and I put the chair together. So maybe things such as Prozac or others are like that hammer. This is pure speculation because I am no scientist, but perhaps something isn't quite lining up in the chemical transit of the brain of a phobic. And a certain medication could be the hammer to line it up. Just something to think about. Again, I am in no way advocating or dis advocating psychiatric medications, but I am thinking more holistically about the problem. And besides, if one were to decide to take some medication (after seeing a doctor of course) one could still put into practice great conscious psychological therapies like Self-Talk, Meditation, Hypnosis, Acupuncture, Reiki, diet, exercise or any other Philosophy that one feels is right.

All I'm saying is that different ideas don't have to rule each other out or be contradictory. It doesn't have to be "This or That." It could be "both and..." And different ideas working together might even prove to be synergistic. Bottom line: we want to find something that works, that cures mine and yours and everyone's problem. Perhaps that path is a holistic one.

A Collection of Self-Talk Phrases Spontaneously Thought of Throughout the last few Days

I love to fly.

I love learning new things, and I do learn new things all the time.

I have a solution. I started SelfTalkForFearofFlying in 2008 to help myself and other people deal with the sometimes overwhelming prospect of flying by using the technique of Conscious Reprogramming of their thoughts, speech, and writing, known as Self-Talk, to re-condition their Subconscious mind to change their mood, feelings, and personality about flying. Prior to running a successful retail store and website, I spent over ten years reading and studying the practice of Self-Talk, Meditation, and Eastern Philosophy concerning the problem and elimination of attachment to fears and desires. I usually text them in immediately when they come to my consciousness, and they form separate posts. So, now I gather all those separate posts into one place, or at least some of them. I like these spontaneous phrases best, because they seem to come from inside you, generated by the Subconscious mind itself. They are like a reflex of the Conscious practice of using, listening, and writing Self Talk. They are like the reflex to effort, to intent. It's like putting something into motion and it stays in motion perpetually, like Newton's law, and in the best place possible: the place where your feelings are created. You are consciously creating your feelings and personality. I lot of people don't know they have the power to do that.)

I do love airplanes, and I do love flying.

Nothing stops me ever.

I have more options.

I am not afraid of flying on airplanes anymore. I can fly right this minute, right this instant, without any problem whatsoever.

I do take my time. I never rush. I have learned to be productive in a relaxed way.

I am completely unafraid to fly. And the dominant programs are determined by all the messages you have received from the outside world since you were born. Everything others said to you about your self either personally (family, friends, other various authority figures) or impersonally (tv, radio, all forms of media and government) and eventually as you got older, everything you have told yourself about yourself, every thought you have thought and are thinking, have created the programs in your subconscious mind that determine your feelings and personality. Once the programs have been put in your mind by means of Conscious Conduits, they play in an endless loop, unconsciously, effortlessly, 24/7. The world is a record collection. Your conscious mind picks out the record, and your subconscious mind is the player which plays the record automatically without any of your effort, other than having picked out which one and placed it on the table.
The good news is that you can control what goes into your subconscious mind and what you will not allow to be programmed in it anymore. You can take any negative thought or spoken word and turn it around into a thought or phrase that is positive and that works for you. This isn't just something that makes you feel better in the moment. This is a new directive that stays recorded in your Subconscious mind forever and stays playing in a continuous loop without any effort, under the "hood" of your conscious mind, down in the Subconscious where your mood is created. When you fill your mind Consciously with the right kind of programs, the positive kind that work for you, and when you break through a certain threshold by practicing every day and staying at it consistently, no matter what your present mood is, these positive programs will become the dominant program. And if your personality is something that is not working for you now, you can and will change it because the dominant programs of your subconscious mind create your personality.

Every challenge makes me stronger and better. An interesting story, and a sad story. I'd be willing bet just from anectdotal evidence that at least 10 percent and perhaps 20% fall into this category. My first impulse would be to say, "I wish I could help her." But that's an example of un productive self talk. Instead I say, "I can help her." Also, since EVERYTHING is an opportunity, this is not a sad story, this is a happy story. This is a story full of opportunity. You're life is full of opportunity, and you know it right now.

Here are a few statements she makes in the article that I will turn around:

"I was scared to fly even then but I managed to do it, probably because I was younger and braver."

She, you, and I can and do turn it around to this:

"I was never afraid to fly. I'm not afraid to fly now, and I never will be. I've always been brave. My soul is brave, and it always will be."

The aerophobic said her problem has become worse with time and is totally unsure how to beat it.

We turn it around to this: "My problem has dissolved. It has dis appeared right now. My problem has become better with time, and I am totally sure how to beat it."

"But the problem just became worse after I saw a couple of movies that showed planes crashing."

Becomes: "The problem just became better after I saw a couple of movies that showed planes crashing, because I realized that, while flying is not 100% safe, it is safer than any other thing that I do in my day to day life, and I am not afraid of those things, and right now I choose not to be afraid of flying anymore."

"Every time I even think about flying I sort of lose my mind."

We turn it around: "Every time I think about flying I'm happy and peaceful and like it."

"I don't know what happens to me then."

Becomes: "I know what happens to me then, and I enjoy the feeling of knowing that I am in complete control of it."

"I simply can't make myself to go anywhere near an aircraft."

"I can go near an aircraft, and I do go near an aircraft all the time, and I love it."

"But at the airport my fear just got the better of me and when it was about time to check in, I just went berserk.

"At the airport my fear never has control of me, and when its about time to check in, I am happy and in a state of bliss because I have allowed all negative emotions to leave me. They no longer exist inside me anymore."

"I know we have to leave Bahrain for good one day, but I don't know how I'm going to do it."

Becomes: "I know we have to leave Bahrain for good one day, and I do know how I'm going to do it."

"Hopefully someone who has the same condition as mine could approach me through the GDN and we could work something out together because medical help didn't seem to work."

Becomes: "Someone who has the same condition as mine is approaching me through the GDN and we can work something out together because there is something that is working."

An exercise like this is fun because the more you do it, the more you begin to feel it, to feel good, to feel something actually changing in your consciousness because something good is changing in your consciousness. It's also therapeutic because any and all good self talk gets recorded by the Subconscious mind. And eventually, the Subconscious mind acts on it.

Actually, we change the title of this story to "Love of Flying Frees Mum!"

I love traveling on airplanes. It's really interesting. I mean your going to spend a lot of time using Self talk, when your thinking, "What am I doing? This is silly." Of course, that is your old programs exerting their power, but the point is, that is the way you feel at the moment.
But the point of this post is that the reason that you stick to it and listen every available minute you have is that, especially, when your conscious mind is off guard, your doing something else, one of those phrases gets through, and you can feel it. It's a really good and powerful feeling. It starts to make a believer out of you, and gives you more motivation to keep at it, even when your dominant programs which control your mood, are still the old ones. You keep at it, and your dominant programs, the ones that control your mood, are becoming positive.

Spontaneous Self-Talk

I am doing something different. I know the source of fear, and I have eliminated it.

*Note: These phrases came popping into my head last night after a day of listening to a lot of Self-Talk on my iPod. So I texted them into my blog and twitter. It's a good sign that your program is working when the phrases coming out of your subconscious are like these. It's also a good sign when your Self-Speak, what you say to others begins naturally talking on the same tone. I gather these phrases so that I can put them into a Script that I can read to myself often. Also I can record them and listen often. I was about to say, "you should too", but I stop myself, because as we know from how the brain works that that will keep you forever not doing it. Instead I say, "You do too!."

Listen to My Programs for Free at Myspace

All of my Self Talk For Fear Flying Programs are available for listening for free on my Myspace site. If you are on the web anyway, surfing, why not go to my Myspace and play the programs in the background while your doing other things on the web?
I just thought of this while I was browsing the web and chatting with a friend on MSN Messenger. I went over to my Myspace and began running the programs. It was effective.
Of course it depends on how much concentration you are doing. For instance, when I was just browsing my email, news, social websites, light conversation on IM, I could let the programs play at a medium volume in the background and everything hummed along nicely, but then when I noticed I wanted to concentrate on writing this post, for instance, I did have to put the programs on pause. It all has to to with your level of concentration when you are on the web or doing other things. But of course, even played at a very low level, some of the programs sink in, and every little bit that sinks in begins to build on the last and complete the picture.
If you have a computer in your kitchen, for instance, you could do the same thing, play the programs from myspace while you're cooking or cleaning.
It's just another idea that popped into my head. The more time you can find for programming the better, and it is always soaking in, no matter what level of attention you are able to give it.

Self-Talk Gleaned While Watching the Chris Rock Special

I make miracles happen!

(I was just watching the new Chris Rock Special on HBO and he said "I had to make miracles happen[to get his lifestyle, million dollar house and career, etc] A positive example of Self talk on TV is so rare, I wanted to write it down. It's sinking in. Your subconscious mind is beginning to accept the new programs. Your Conscious mind is like a gatekeeper, and he is a negative gatekeeper when he is being run by the current negative programs in your mind. That's why you have a lot of negative feelings of "not feeling like it," "this isn't working," "what's the use." But even this gatekeeper gets tired, and if you keep at it relentlessly, your going to catch him when he is off guard and the new programs will get through. As time goes by, the more the new Positive programs sink in, he becomes weaker.
Reading scripts out loud or writing scripts is the most powerful method, but when you don't feel like it, it's harder to get yourself to do those. So listen to the programs you've already recorded, purchased from my store or Shad Helmstetter's store , or anyone else who sells Self-Talk programs, although I don't know of any others.
Listen, listen, listen. At all times you can, even when its only passively. A hook will begin to develop, just like a hook in a song gets stuck in your head, but this time its positive programs getting stuck in your head, programs that will automatically change your mood and actions into positive actions

Exercises inTurning Around Negative Thoughts from My Twitter Post

Here is another example of the exercise of turning around either negative or counter productive thoughts. Some thoughts, actually don't seem negative on the surface, but if you think of them as a program to your brain, an instruction to your brain to carry out an activity or create a mood, you can see how wrong they are for you. I was looking over some of my old Twitter posts this year and saw some examples of the wrong type of thoughts I was not only thinking but typing into my phone as a Text message! Think about that as an analogy with the "Personal Computer."

Here's some that I wrote:

"I'm not living from the state of consciousness that I want to live from. That's one problem."

A good realization perhaps, one that drove me to therapies like Self Talk, but think about it as an instruction to my Subconscious mind. It's instructing my Subconscious mind not to live from the state of conscious that I would like and also to create a problem.

I turn it around like this:

"I am living from the state of consciousness that I want to live from because I can and do choose how to live, what to do and what to tell myself. I don't have problems, and I don't create them. I pursue opportunities, and I live them out."

#2 - "I want to live a synchrodestinous consciousness, everday a new awakening. How do I do that?" Another example of an "I want.." type statement that doesn't sound negative, but when you realize your subconscious records phrases put in the present tense, the directive, the program, will give you feelings of wanting instead of fulfillment and create actions that leave you wanting instead of having.

I turn that one around like this: "I do live in Synchro-Destiny right now. Every day of my life is a new awakening. I'm better every day. I know how to do this. I've read how to do this, and I'm putting it into action right now. My wall was a bogey man, and I went "boo!" and he disappeared."

Example #3 - "My Adventure is waiting right now, just around the corner, if I just knew what step I needed to take. What is it?" Again, a lot of that one is good. The first part is in the present tense, but if you analyze the instruction, its a directive that is always going to keep me waiting, once again, not fulfilled.

I turn it around like this: "My adventure is here. I'm living it. I know the step I need to take: a Psychological Commitment. I've made that commitment, and I stick with it right now, and forever."

Example #4 "If you want to ride on the full fury of the life force, you have to let the life force in." You know this sounds like a sentence from a good Self Help book. You read statements like that all throughout the book of what you "should" do, and they are good ideas, and you think "yeah I should do that!" but think about the instruction: the instruction "Should" means that you are not! It is a program Not to do the very thing that is positive. And there you are reading what you think is this great book that's sold 20 million copies. Full of instructions to your brain to create negative feelings and actions, to keep you living in a Wasteland, and to keep you feeling like you deserve it!

I turn this around like this: "I let the life force in all the time by a commitment and the act of being, and I'm riding on the full fury of the life force right now."

Example #5 - " Anything that negates that (i was talking about unbridled exuberance) is like the Monster holding back the waters of life that Indra had to destroy. The Indra in you has to destroy it."

There's an interesting one, taken from the story, "The Humbling of Indra." I'm sure I felt very Philosophical when I wrote it, a bit proud of myself, but here again look at the last part of the sentence from a programming point of view. If the Subconscious mind acts on instructions in their present tense form then the program is designed for your brain to execute the order of NOT destroying the monster. It's executing the order of having to destroy it, but having to destroy it means you are not destroying it. It means you are having to destroy it, which in a literal sense, taken in the present tense means, "you have to, but you do not." The instruction is keeping you forever stuck in the past, forever not fulfilling, on this side of the mountain, river, Paradise, never initiating.

I turn it around like this: "I'm always exuberant. Nothing ever negates my natural state. I am at this moment destroying the monster that tries to hold back the water of life, and I am succeeding."

#5- My last twitter post was perfect. I'm getting the hang of it. It was: "Your dreams come true right now, because you have awakened." That's the right Self-Talk: A positive statement directed to yourself phrased in the present tense. It's more than just a good idea or a pleasant thought. It's an actual biological act that physically changes your mood and actions.

It's More than Just Motivation

Self-Talk is motivation and motivation is beneficial because it can be that little extra push into action that can make all the difference in many different situations.
But Self-Talk is more than just motivation. It is actually a biological, chemical process in the brain that changes your feelings, actions, and results. The brain is a recorder. It stores information. When it functions, it functions on the actions stored inside its data base. New information that it receives is accepted, recorded, and if it is in conflict with the old information, replaces it. This is especially true if the new information is repeated often enough (think of Advertising) and with authority and conviction. The old information is slowly erased and loses its power to run brain functions, both over the endocrine (mood) and cerebral (logic) systems. They become yesterday's news, and what do people act on, yesterday's news, or todays? And your brain is the same way. It acts on today's news.
Self-Talk is also a therapy of returning you to your real self. The blockage of your real self by a false personality running the ship is from all the negative conditioning from the outside world, which trickles down to your local society, the people around you, and eventually to the eternal dialog going on in your own cerebral cortex. The outside world is attracted to negativity as a way of avoiding what really is, what's really going on. Framing ordinary events in a negative light gives them a sense of importance, so as not to have to face the fact that LIFE IS A MIRACLE, AND EVERY MOMENT IS A JOY. If you involved in a false sense of importance (emotionally attached to the goings on of the world) then you can be in denial of principle of what your soul is here for, and become identified internally with an Ego and all of the negative traits that go with such a complex.

Introduction to "Self-Talk" Part 2 by Dr. Shad Helmstetter

Second half of the Self-Talk Story by Dr. Shad Helmstetter. This will teach and motivate you about the effectiveness of Self-Talk. Listen to this and Part 1 often to remind yourself of how the brain works, how Self-Talk works to make the changes in your life that you want. Remember, catch yourself during the day whenever you say to yourself "I want..." and turn it around to your new directive of "I have it! I'm obtaining it right now. It is here!" And then, this is very important, write it down. Writing Self-Talk, or "Self-Write" is an essential part of this process, this journey. It can sometimes be the most important part of the program because the written word has the Power of Legitimacy, and the subconscious responds to it with great respect.

Related Links: Introduction to "Self-Talk" Part 1 by Dr. Shad Helmstetter

Video: Shad Helmstetter on the Story of Self-Talk

Introduction to "Self-Talk" Part 1 by Dr. Shad Helmstetter

This is the first part of the story of Self-Talk, what it is and how it works by Dr. Shad Helmstetter. Dr. Helmstetter is the author of What to Say When You Talk To Yourselfand The Self-Talk Solution, definitive books on the subject and must reads. It was a feeling that came up from my Subconscious mind to my Conscious mind in the form of a thought. Needless to say it felt good, so I texted it in. This brings to mind some thoughts about Self-Talk:

Feelings create thoughts, and thoughts create feelings. There's a two way conversation going on there, like two people playing catch. That's one of the Secrets of why the Practice of Self-Talk works.

Any positive self-talk that automatically pops into your head is one sign that you practice is working

When those positive Self-Talk statements automatically pop into your head, write them down. This re-enforces them and starts building a list of Self-Talk statements tailor-made for you that you can collect into a script.

If the thought that pops into your head is a negative one, this provides you with an even greater opportunity. Write that thought down. Then turn it around, and write its exact opposite. This is a fun game. It gives your subconscious and the old programs that live there a little jolt, and a little note to start packing their bags!

Great Free Videos To Watch from FlyingWithoutFear.com

Just came across this great website and program. Try giving your self a dose of that kind of programming to your subconscious every day and all the time, and see how you feel, see how you do!

More Analogies of What Self-Talk Is

Self-Talk is like studying a new language or any thing new. At first its hard, but then, with work, it becomes easier, effortless, and unconscious. The more you do it, the more fun you have doing it, and the more you feel it working. When you first study a new language you have to translate the meaning into your own language. This requires work. After you study for a while, however, you feel and know the meaning of the new language in its own tongue, effortlessly.
This is analogous to practicing Self-Talk. When you first start using it, it doesn't feel comfortable. The conflict you feel, initially, between the Positive statements you are saying and listening to and the negative, resistance you have to them is like the negative feelings you have translating an alien language to your own. Those negative feelings are being produced by your old self-talk, the years of negative, counter-productive programming you have been giving to yourself and receiving from others and the outside world. But as you continue to practice, ignoring your negative feelings of the moment, you Subconscious starts to assimilate the new information and your feelings begin to change. Soon you are "speaking" fluently in the new language of Positive Self-Talk effortlessly. It is now a part of you, the real you, and your personality has changed.

My Fear of Flying Self Talk Programs for Sale

Here you can purchase my Self-Talk programs for Fear of Flying. Now I dont trust planes.

What about you? and why are you afraid?

I was thinking of following a course to get over this fear and i might just do that because its paralyzing to fear flying.

Let's take her Conscious thoughts, expressed here in writing, and turn them around into Conscious intructions that work for her:

No, I'm not. I've always loved flying. I fly a lot, and I never have bad flights. Now, I do trust planes, and I trust my life, my confidence, and my attitude. I am following a course that is the thread of my own destiny, and I do just that now, because it is freeing and enabling to love flying.

The idea is to catch yourself when you speak, think, or write thoughts and ideas Consciously, which amount to instructions or Programs to your subconscious mind. If they are counter-productive, turn them around. At first this takes effort. But after time it becomes a habit, a positive habit. Then it takes on a life of its own and over time your feelings, moods, and personality, indeed, your consciousness itself, changes. You will be a different person, or actually come back to being the person that you have always been.

The Most Effect Self-Talk Sessions

Actually, as much as I want to sell my MP3s, and to tell the truth, recorded Self Talk is essential, the most Powerful Sessions are reading scripts out loud to yourself because you are more actively involved in the process. You know, your subconscious is like a recorder. The more active your Conscious Self Talk sessions are, they become like higher tech recording equipment, they become like articulated speech, or a professional singer, and so the recording, the recording that runs the "Ship" of your mood, feelings, and Personality has a more clear blue print to operate from. This type of session leaves a deeper impression, as it were.
Active listening to Self-Talk recordings can come close to this instensity.
But you can't do either of these things all the time. Your mind needs some rest, and its actually at those resting moments when you will be making the most progress because the Subconscious will be assimilating the new POSITIVE programs.
When you sit down for an active speaking out loud session of Self-Talk, grab a few scripts and start slowly and calmly. Don't worry about time. Don't be impatient with time. That causes agitation.
As you begin reading you my at first be skittish, a little bored, and thinking, how long is it going to take to get this over with? But just take a breath and relax, quit thinking about the programs themselves, and really try enjoying articulating the words. Imagine your are speaking in front of thousands like accepting a Presidential Nomination or something like that to make the process FUN instead of something your just trying to get over with. Fall in love with words themselves, get "Drunk on them" as Dylan Thomas said, fall in love with speaking, articulating, and when you are inside that Circle, where as Frost said, "We all sit around and suppose, while the secret sits in the middle and knows," you'll begin cooking, you'll start feeling it working, and your really may not want to quit.
As great as they are, such sessions can be taxing. Usually they'll last about 30 minutes. Do them once a day or even once every 2 or 3 days. Your subconscious mind will really take hold of them, and it will be some of your most effective time spent.

Self Talk: A Life of It’s Own

I noticed I was listening to Self Talk as I was driving, that this new programming begins to take on a life of its own. It's fun! Sure, your goal is to change your life in the outside world, the "field", to fulfill your dreams in "reality", and I believe that's what will eventually happen with this therapy, this exercise.
But I also noticed that just the act of Self-Talk itself provides a pleasure of its own, a pleasure almost matching that of the experience of fulfilling dreams in the outside world itself. Again, I'm back to the theme of the exercise of Self Talk being an entertainment as well as a therapy. It's rather like reading a good novel or a good book that both entertains you, gives you pleasure, and makes you smarter to become more successful in the outside world.
It's like a football player or musician who enjoys practicing as much as performing. What's that saying, "It's the journey, itself, as well as the destination that is the fulfillment, the experience.

Fear of Flying Article from USA Today

http://www.usatoday.com/travel/columnist/baskas/2008-07-08-fear-of-flying-classes_N.htm

Dr. Shad Helmstetter - But by the same token if you were to hear a completely foreign language spoken by native speakers, speaking very quickly, and you decided you wanted to be fluent in that language, chances are, on your first day of classes, you would feel exactly the same way. But their brains have no special function or parts that yours doesn't have, and yet they are able right that moment to speak the language fluently almost UNCONSCIOUSLY.
It would be an impossibility for you to speak a foreign language fluently after one day of study, and yet it's not only possible, but completely inevitable that with CONSCIOUS practice, over time, that you will speak it fluently, as fluently as you wish. When the Subconscious mind is given enough instruction from the Conscious mind, the task becomes effortless.
It's the same with changing your personality, your moods, your feelings. If your conscious mind gives your subconscious mind a steady diet of new instructions, consistently, overtime, your subconscious will execute those programs effortlessly and you will change. You will have a new personality, or rather get back your TRUE personality that was always there to begin with, but has been hijacked by negative, counter productive instructions. Those instructions were conscious, and they can, will, and are being changed right now. Do you feel it?

Here's a new directive from this thought: "Yes, I do feel it, and I can, will, and am changing right now!" Say it out loud, with feeling, enthusiasm, emotion. Have fun telling yourself good things about yourself. One of the Key Tenants of Self Talk is at first, as a ground state, to simply enjoy how it makes you feel on its own sake. Get pleasure from it, like you would get pleasure watching a good comedy show. To begin with, enjoy it for its own sake. That's why its so good to listen to it in the shower or brushing teeth, or driving somewhere, because you are relaxed and soaking it in for pleasure. And that happens also to be the time when it's most effective.

You may purchase my Self-Talk for Fear of Flying Programs below from my Snocap store. The files are in MP3 so that you may put them on your Ipod or any other player and burn them to CDs, listen to them, and begin reprogramming your subconscious mind Consciously.

My Fear Of Flying: How Yoga Keeps Me Grounded

Interesting Article from the Huffington Post

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/tara-stiles/my-fear-of-flying-how-yog_b_127279.html

Here's something fun I like to do. When I read an article like this, I look for statements which are negative and turn them around into positive statements that work for me. Here are some I've done from this article:

It's easy for me to fly.

I can actually admit that I love to fly. Yes me!

I've always loved to fly, and I still love to fly.

I'm not a person with fears. I'm a great traveler.

I love adventure, and I fit in well with new people.

I am of great assistance to people, and people are of great assistance to me.

I am fortunate that I can travel to loads of places for work and play.

My adventures are really taking off, and I love everything about them.

I love the anticipation and excitement of the trip ahead.

I love being in control of my emotions and choosing to be brave, courageous, and unafraid.

I love going to the airport and getting on the plane and settling into my seat.

Watching the ground speed by as we soar into the air is thrilling to me.

I adore being in the clouds and relish in daydreams as we jet through and above the fluff piles.

My subconscious soaks in this new programming right now, and now I love to fly!

I have such a peaceful feeling when I am flying.

I'm inspired when I fly. Ah, flying to so peaceful to me.

I can remove my fears as easily as I can wipe the dust off my plants.

I have developed a love of flying.

I am always calm.

I find a relaxed state of mind through "being," through connection to my source, and I can seem to do it for myself when it comes to flying on an airplane. I am just fine on an airplane.

I get excited for my trip when I go to the airport, and for me all is just fine.

I grow calmer when we back out of the gate. I'm completely relaxed when we hit the runway.

When the engine revs up and we speed down the runway, all I can imagine is everything going right.

My thoughts are productive and practical, and they are real to me.

When the plane is taking off, I'm relaxed, and I love this part.

Once we are off the ground, my whole body relaxes.

I absolutely love when the plane turns during the climb. I imagine that I am free to go anywhere I want, and I am.

I realize my actions and fearlessness are normal to say the least.

During take-off I can control my thoughts and emotions.

All the time during the flight all is o.k. with me.

I think of everything that peace has taught me and how quickly I remember it during take-off.

I am in control of my life and my emotions completely.

I make choices and feel in control, and I know that's how things are.

I never spend my life worrying about what could happen to get in the way, annoy or even kill me.

If I go in that direction there is a good chance that everything will go my way.

I am always able to breathe and remain in peace.

I always win the battle with my un-useful thoughts.

I am able to breathe fully. It's easy for me. I am being happy in life because things are going my way.

It's always easy for me to be focused and calm. All my times are times of comfort.

When the turbulence kicks in, and the fasten seat belt light goes on, connection to my source and common sense grow even stronger in my mood and personality. I return again to a state of relaxation.

I love bumps. I imagine gliding through a sea of gel-lo. I know air is mass and is holding me up safely. It's wonderful and fun.

I remind myself these thoughts are very productive, and I have the ability to change what my thoughts are and to change my thinking.

I breathe and empty my thoughts and let the infinite source of awareness and bliss in.

With all my training in meditation and health related activities, this is easy for me and requires no effort.

I have a go-to list of a million techniques to reduce stress and applying to myself in a turbulence situation, somehow this is so easy!

I'm always fine on a plane. I'm rational and grounded, psychologically and literally.

I like being on a plane, and I like climbing through the air. It's wise really, when I think about it because fast moving thick air is a mass as solid as the ground.

Everything feels o.k. to me. I am always rational because I have awareness and bliss.

I am determined to turn into a frequent flier with a love of flying.

This is good for everyone.

I now do more flying and always feel calm while I'm doing it.

I practice all the time turning counter-productive thoughts into thoughts that work for me.

I am as calm, breathing, and focused during difficult situations as during easier times. This is accessible to me, right now.

It will make me into Siddhartha in time for my next flight.

I do see some easing the gap between easy and difficult.

With a little time I will be practicing the difficult stuff with ease. I'm looking forward to it!

The difficult stuff is not so difficult for me anymore!

Cut and paste this script into a document, print it and read it to yourself during one of your relaxed Self-Talk sessions. Or record it with your own voice and put it on your Ipod or other device, or CD. Say it with emotion and conviction. Your subconscious mind will soak it in, and over time, with the power of repetition, these feeling will be your real feelings. They already are. This is your "Undiscovered Self," as Jung puts it.
